The idea didn’t begin in a factory — it began in a new home.

When we, the new generation, started moving into our own apartments and houses, everything felt fresh, minimal, modern — but something was missing. Our interiors were clean and quiet… but spiritually empty.

We had left behind the heavy, overly ornate furniture of our parents’ homes — yet with it, we had also lost a piece of our identity.

Where was the anchor in our space?

Where was the symbol of who we are and where we come from?

That question planted the seed for AVDAR — a sacred centerpiece reimagined for modern living. A piece that carries both ancestral power and intentional design. Something that could exist beautifully in a minimalist home, but still feel deeply, unmistakably ours.

The founders

AVDAR was founded by Mand and Ariunsanaa, two Mongolian women with a vision to bring sacred heritage into modern homes. The idea was born when Mand moved into her first apartment and realized how minimalist design had replaced meaningful, symbolic furniture like the avdar chests of her childhood. Wanting to create a modern centerpiece that carried spirit, beauty, and ancestral identity, she partnered with Ariunsanaa — an executor and connector deeply rooted in Mongolian maker networks. Together, they designed AVDAR as a fusion of tradition and modernity: intentional furniture with soul. What began as a personal longing is now becoming a global luxury brand and a blueprint for heritage-driven entrepreneurship. AVDAR exists to help people around the world reconnect with their roots — one sacred centerpiece at a time.
